Why do divorce attornies of opposing sides work together to file useless motions, orders, and conferences?

Anti_Fascism asked:

When none of those things have led to any progress in a divorce case lasting over 6 years. Why can't attornies get the job done and stop dragging everything out by pretending they are arguing with each other on the phone each day and then charging their clients hundreds of dollars for it every time? Lawyers - how do you sleep at night??

To save money.

Because arguing with each other results in billable hours…They picked this profession for the money, pretty much.

Although I would look forward to hearing a lawyer’s response on this…

to make more money, of course. That way each attorney can charge thier client for the filing and both of them make more mooollllaaahhh!

b/c the more “stuff” they do, the more they can charge you..remember they work by the hour. I will be a lawyer in a year or so, and completely agree with you. Those who take people in a vulnerable emotional situation and bend it to meet their financial desires should be disbarred. They give the whole profession a bad name.

They can get the job done…you need to tell them to stop doing all the filing they are doing, or to get your permission first…they can’t do stuff you haven’t authorized, remember, they work for you.
