How do I get my name off my house during a divorce?
I want to know how I can let my wife have the house we live in? I don't want to, but she is trying to stick me with most the bills.

She has to buy you out in order for that to happen. She needs to apply for a new mortgage in her name only.
If you don’t want your name on the house you should be able to go the courthouse and file a quit claim.
you will have to tell your laywer/barrister to clarify this in the final divorce settlement hearing, then it all depends on the judge
You MUST in the property settlement stipulate that if she gets the house that she has to refinance to eliminate you from the mortgage.

You will have to list it as a stipulation in the divorce. You will need to do a quitclaim deed from both of you to just her, and she will need to refinance it in her name alone. This will also need to be put in the divorce papers with a time frame for her to refinance the house. If she doesn’t do it, she will be in contempt.
